Q: Melissa, please give us an introduction to who you are and your role at Anchor Loans.
A: I'm a mother of two energetic toddlers and cherish moments with my family. We thrive outdoors, whether it's enjoying the beach or camping adventures.
Professionally, I have been with Anchor Loans for 11 years. As the VP of Processing, I lead loan processing operations, collaboration among underwriters, loan officers, and borrowers to ensure prompt fundings. I strategize, develop, and implement procedural enhancements aimed at optimizing efficiency, upholding quality standards, and effectively managing risk.
Q: Can you share your initial reaction upon receiving the news that you had been named as an award winner?
A: I was surprised and most of all honored.

A: I believe my work has made an impact in several ways. The first being creating a smooth and transparent loan process which enhances the overall customer experience. By optimizing processing procedures and providing clear communications our process contributes to a positive experience for borrowers, leading to increased customer loyalty and referrals. More importantly I feel I have had a direct impact on individuals in fostering their growth by creating a supportive environment. This has allowed others to feel empowered to take on new challenges, expand their knowledge and achieve their professional goals.
Q: Who or what has been your biggest source of inspiration and support along the way?
A: I have found inspiration in the collective efforts of the individuals I've worked with, each bringing their unique perspectives. I've been fortunate to encounter caring individuals who have contributed to my ongoing development, inspiring me to do the same for others.

A: A typical day for me involves overseeing the entire loan pipeline. I review the status of ongoing applications, address any bottlenecks or issues that may arise, and provide guidance to my team as needed. I dedicate time to strategizing and implementing procedural improvements aimed at streamlining processes and collaborating with other departments to implement changes effectively. Overall, my days are fast-paced and fun, requiring a balance of strategic planning, operational oversight, and collaborative leadership to ensure the success of our loan processing operations.
