Jeffrey Lipton

Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder

The co-founder and driving force behind the operations of Anchor Loans, Mr. Lipton is an experienced private investor as well as a licensed real estate agent. Over the course of his 15- year career he has successfully been involved in over 4,000 private money real estate transactions totaling more than $1 billion.

During his tenure at Anchor Mr. Lipton has grown a business from a start up in 1998 to one that currently services a $50 million real estate portfolio and has initiated over $170 million in real estate transactions per year at its peak. One of the keys to Anchor’s success has been Mr. Lipton’s hands on approach, including previewing each deal prior to it being funded.  His ability to service clients and identify investment opportunities has been integral to both the growth of Anchor and its respected reputation.

A native of Queens, Mr. Lipton credits his New York roots in a middle-class family for firing his drive for success, competitive edge and tenacity.

Mr. Lipton now lives in Palos Verdes, California with his wife and two children. In his free time he enjoys playing poker, fishing for salmon in the waters of the Pacific Northwest, attending Lakers games, taking in Broadway shows and watching his children’s’ youth sports activities.


Steve Pollack

President, Chief Financial Officer and Co-Founder

Steve Pollack

Co-founder of Anchor Loans, Dr. Pollack serves as President and Chief Financial Officer.  Included in his duties is the administration of investor and borrower services as well as the servicing of Anchor’s loan portfolio. Dr. Pollack has a 20+ year record of success in real estate during which he has garnered an extensive knowledge of information systems and loan servicing procedures.

In the decade prior to his independent real estate ventures and the formation of Anchor Loans in 1998, Dr. Pollack ran a successful Optometry practice in Stockton, California.  During that time, Dr. Pollack taught at the UC Berkeley School of Optometry’s Contact Lens Clinic as an Associate Clinical Professor where he supervised optometric residents.

Dr. Pollack holds a Doctorate (O.D.) in Optometry from the University of California, Berkeley and a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Psychobiology from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).

A New York native, Dr. Pollack resides with his wife and their son in Agoura Hills, California.  When not surveying investment opportunities, he enjoys playing poker, reading, playing golf and volunteering his time with non-profits.
   
 

Dan Harrington

Co-Founder

Dan Harrington

The former Chief Executive Officer and Co-founder of Anchor Loans, Mr. Harrington had more than 20 years’ experience in real estate as both an investor and a mortgage broker. Prior to his work in real estate, he was a stock market investor and lawyer practicing in the fields of real estate and bankruptcy law. Mr. Harrington was a partner in the Boston-based firm Member & Harrington for more than a decade. Mr. Harrington retired as an officer and director of Anchor Loans in 2009, but remains a shareholder.

In addition to his careers in law and real estate, Mr. Harrington is an accomplished professional poker and backgammon player - games that he credits with sharpening his instincts and refining his understanding of equity while developing his conservative approach to transactions. His accomplishments include winning the World Series of Poker in 1995; making the cover of Forbes magazine, May 1996; winning the WPT Legends Championship in 2007; winning the Massachusetts State Chess Championship (1971) and winning the National Backgammon Championship (1980). In addition, Mr. Harrington has authored the Harrington on Hold ‘em series of poker books – currently the best selling volumes ever written on the subject.

A Massachusetts native, Mr. Harrington holds a Juris Doctorate (J.D.) and a Bachelors of Arts (B.A.) in Government and History from Suffolk University.


 

Robert Fragoso

Senior Vice President - Valuations, Originations and Sales

Mr. Fragoso brings a wealth of real estate knowledge to Anchor Loans and serves as Senior Vice President. Since Anchor Loans inception in 1998, Mr. Fragoso has been instrumental in generating new business, which has contributed significantly to Anchor Loans’ growth. Mr. Fragoso is the key loan originator for Anchor Loans as well as a significant force behind Anchor’s acquisition division.

From an early age, Mr. Fragoso was exposed to the world of real estate investing. His natural acumen has allowed him to become a successful private real estate investor from the early 1990’s to today. With over 15-years’ experience on both sides of a real estate transaction, Mr. Fragoso’s ability to identify untapped opportunities, combined with his expertise in maximizing the potential value in rehab properties, remain fundamental in fostering borrower success.

Today Mr. Fragoso embodies a true love of the real estate business. He embraces new techniques and enjoys creating win-win opportunities for Anchor Loans’ clients.

Mr. Fragoso lives in Los Angeles together with his wife, Shea, and their son and daughter.

   

Robert Wasmund

Senior Vice President - Acquisitions

An expert in originating and structuring real estate deals, Mr. Wasmund is the driving force behind the acquisition and rehabilitation arm of Anchor Loans. With over 10 years experience in real estate rehabilitation and lending activities, Mr. Wasmund has the ability to identify properties and sub-markets that are ready for repositioning. Combined with his aptitude to implement the rehabilitation plan of target properties, he has acquired over $75 million in real estate with Anchor.  In addition, Mr. Wasmund is a key part of Anchor’s loan origination business

Mr. Wasmund attended the University of North Florida, is a graduate of US Naval Nuclear Power School, and served as a reactor operator for 5 years on the USS Enterprise.

Additionally, Mr. Wasmund has enjoyed a lucrative career as a world-class professional poker player. He credits this experience for enhancing his real estate negotiation and risk assessment skills.

Mr. Wasmund also competes nationally playing semi-pro baseball, winning a national title in 2002 and runner-up in 2004. Robert brings this same competitive drive and dedication to servicing Anchor Loans’ clients. Mr. Wasmund currently resides in Los Angeles with his wife and daughter.

   

Matt Ediger

Vice President - Construction and Development

Mr. Ediger brings to Anchor a vast array of real world experience related to his previous work in the field as a private builder and contractor. After receiving his B.S. degree in Construction Engineering and Management at Kansas State University, Mr. Ediger quickly rose through the ranks at one of the nations top ranked General Contractors. The desire to work in neighborhood development lured him to the residential side of construction in the early 2000’s and he hasn’t looked back. His duties at Anchor include overseeing borrower's construction and repair scope along with accurately estimating and projecting future value of repaired properties.

Mr. Ediger resides with his fiancé in Downtown Los Angeles; the two of them enjoy surveying art and painting in their free time.
